same as last time - FA Cup. It's becoming more of a bind than a valued competition. The clubs have made it that way.

Only this morning I was listening to an interview with Kevin Bond, the Spurs assistant manager. He was asked "finishing fourth or winning the FA Cup?" without hesitation he answered finishing fourth.

Now I can remember when clubs, players and fans would have preferred winning silverware to finishing fourth in their league. How times have changed..........so no wonder fans do not support the FA Cup that much.

in all fairness i can see why 4th would be better, and not just because of the money.

I would rather us finish 4th than win the FA Cup - imagine being able to play in the Champions League! Having Barcelona or Real Madrid playing at St andys. Having the opportunity to go on a European away day in Rome or Milan!

winning a domestic cup is all well and good, but it would be great to play against European teams who we wouldnt play otherwise.

I've bought 1% of them - looks like those of us travelling up to Everton are going to have a lot of room - 10 seats per person at the moment.

Huge problem with your theory................ the two qualifying rounds of the CL we would have to get through. No chance.

However winning the FA Cup not only means silverware but the Europa League as well.

Bob Latchford?

Howard Kendall and Archie Styles?

John Connelly and Gary Jones

Gary Jones was seriously one of the worst footballers I've ever seen at the Blues.

John Connelly on the other hand - legend! Just for that goal he scored at the vile park when we beat them 2-1. Happy days!!

Im not. I went to the league game and our coach broke down on the way there and we had to wait nearly an hour after the game for our replacement one to turn up so I aint going through that again. Plus the seats are very uncomfortable

yes that is very true.

but i still think Champions League football would be better than winning the FA Cup.

sure its great to win a trophy, and obviously i would just be happy for US to win anything, but for Spurs i think Champions League football is a better achievement.

Oh and on topic, Im gonna go to Everton. had a s*** view in the league game there a few weeks back, but i fancy going again now, and the atmosphere from the Blues was good last time!

If you can't go financial or have other arrangements than fair enough.

I have one question to those who just don't make the effort.

If we managed to get to Wembley would you go?...

then why don't you help YOUR club to try to get their then.

Yep 4 going, 2 nippers and wife, hopefully my lad will remember a great cup run... something in my time only the Leyland and autowindscreen came to fruition, oh and the league cup final (damn that ref!!!).

You read many posters (older ones) who have great memories, that's what i'd like to have and my lad to have. Finishing 4th and more likely not progressing through to the knockout stages of the Champs league, is a stretch too far for us this season, but a run in the cup maybe on the cards.

For my sins I work in Cov, and they all remember their win in 87, it's written in the books and laid down in history........ mind you no guarantees with Everton, and trust them to start playing well all of a sudden.

I do like reading the excuses for people who are not going though, quite varied ..zz.. if I don't fancy going, just say I don't fancy it, you do not have to justify it.

Tickets in Row A, should get a good view of the grass......oh and if I remember right those mersey cops do carry long truncheons :silence:
